What is it?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring healing compound found in the hemp plant. CBD has medicinal effects but it is not psychoactive (it won’t make you “high” or “stoned”). Scientific and clinical studies indicate CBD intake promotes and improves health and well-being and may be used to treat and control a wide range of conditions and ailments.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring healing compound found in the hemp plant. CBD has medicinal effects but it is not psychoactive (it won’t make you “high” or “stoned”). Scientific and clinical studies indicate CBD intake promotes and improves health and well-being and may be used to treat and control a wide range of conditions and ailments by interacting with the endocannabinoid system.
Both are products derived from the cannabis plant, containing cannabinoids and terpenes. One distinct difference is that medical marijuana contains strains producing much higher levels of THC. Hemp, in contrast, produces much higher levels of CBD. Additionally, hemp is mostly grown outdoors whereas medical marijuana is mostly cultivated indoors. Everyone benefits from getting to know their endocannabinoid system via self-assessment and monitoring what is most effective.
The human endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a network of receptors spread throughout the entire body (e.g. the brain, central nervous system, organs, blood, etc.) that control some of our most vital life functions, including our immune system, memory, appetite, sleep patterns, mood and pain sensation. Studies have revealed that cannabinoids and terpenes act as neuromodulators which means that they ease the body into homeostasis or balance in its vital functions.
Medical and scientific researchers have studied CBD extensively and continue to identify its benefits and applications. Here are just a few proven benefits: aids in smoking cessation and nicotine addiction, relieves chronic pain and inflammation, provides arthritis relief, eases digestive problems (Crohn’s, Colitis, IBS) and regulates metabolism, improves insomnia, improves mood/depression, treats a range of skin conditions (psoriasis, eczema, etc.) and has anti-aging properties, relieves stress, alleviates anxiety, protects the nervous system against degeneration (brain health), reduces blood sugar levels (anti-diabetic, aids in weight management), reduces seizures, relieves migraines/headaches, improves immune system function and far too much more to list here. CBD oil is known as “nature’s liquid gold” because of its curative value.
CBD works by entering your system and interacting with specific cannabinoid receptors that are located throughout your body. These receptors help regulate systems in your body such as mood, appetite, pain sensations, sleep patterns, etc. CBD interacts with your nervous system and your brain, releasing Dopamine which is commonly known as “the reward chemical”. When you have adequate CBD in your system, your body will also begin to produce extra Serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is associated with mood and pain sensations and is connected to relieving inflammation in the body.
In a full spectrum CBD product there is an interactive synergy between cannabis compounds, which has been coined “the entourage effect”. Knowing this allows you to differentiate between products labeled broad spectrum, isolate and full spectrum. Full spectrum is ideal because it most closely resembles nature’s design.
Hemp has a vast number of naturally occurring phytocompounds that interact with the body called cannabinoids and terpenes. These compounds assist the body in achieving and maintaining homeostasis, act as an anti-inflammatory, an antiviral and provide anti-fungal properties. One could think of this as a “Lock and Key” system, wherein the cannabinoids and terpenes “feed” the receptors upon entry into the system, unlocking wellness by facilitating the brain in communicating with chemicals that the body makes.
There are many factors to consider when determining how much CBD oil to take (age, weight, metabolism, conditions you wish to treat, current cannabinoid levels in your body, etc.) as well as the purity and potency of the CBD oil. Therefore, the “less is more” approach is advised; meaning start with a minimal dosage and be an active observer of how your body interacts with the CBD oil. Be patient as your body adjusts and know you have the power to safely take more or less as needed in order to achieve your desired outcomes. Additionally, as your body adapts to being “fed” with cannabinoids, the receptors will respond and you will be able to use this feedback to determine your optimal dosage. Furthermore, it is consistency in usage that is most important in order to achieve efficacy. Meaning, take your desired dose in the morning and in the evening for best results.
For best results, give yourself 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after your serving without food or drink. Shake the bottle, squeeze the dropper to fill the pipette to desired amount. We generally recommend starting with .25 mL as marked. Take the CBD Drops under your tongue (sublingually) and let it sit for 60 seconds, then swallow. You’ll taste the natural terpenes! Repeat morning and night daily.
CBD affects everyone differently, listen to your body and take notice of the subtle changes. Notice what you feel but also what you don’t feel; such as pain, anxiety, inflammation, etc. Benefits will begin to take place inside your body right away even though it may take time for you to notice them. That is completely normal and to be expected. Your results will depend on your individual body. CBD also has a cumulative effect so consistent twice daily use is important. Continue to assess your results weekly and adjust your serving amount accordingly.
CBD will not get you high nor does it have any psychoactive properties. Drug tests do not screen for CBD but do screen for THC. Our CBD Drops product contains less than 0.3% THC, not enough to be detected on a drug test. However, depending on dose and body composition, there is a chance it could show up.
CBD has zero known side effects. Extensive research has been conducted and remarkably, no side effects have been identified. If you’re concerned about any possible drug interactions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
CBD is not known to have any harmful side-effects nor has it been shown to interact with any other medicines and/or supplements when used appropriately. Scientific and clinical trials have shown and continue to show CBD as safe, harmless and effective as a curative for countless ailments and as a supplement to support general health and well-being. As with any supplement, it’s best to consult with your doctor about any specific concerns regarding any possible drug interactions.
CBD works with your nervous system to stimulate the brain to release Dopamine (“the reward chemical”) which reduces cravings by regulating the reward system in the brain. CBD also helps with withdrawal symptoms like headaches and irritability.
CBD has shown to be non-habit forming and safe. There has been no evidence linking CBD to recreational use or dependancy. Additionally, CBD is recommended for those recovering from addictions or dependency on prescription drugs treating conditions such as chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety and depression, among others.
MCT oil is considered the safest carrier oil as it is a natural based agent vs a petroleum based agent. Always learn vaporizer safety before you attempt to vaporize anything.
We do use MCT oil in our CBD Drops product that is made from coconuts. Our MCT oil is organically grown and distilled to remove all coconut proteins. Leaving only Medium Chain Triglycerides. It is suggested that you check with your doctor to be sure.
Yes. The TSA has updated their policy regarding hemp derived CBD. Travelers are permitted to carry hemp derived CBD in both carry-on luggage and checked baggage. Remember to check tsa.gov before you travel for specific information.
There are many benefits of CBD for pets. Similar to humans, pets respond to cannabinoids in hemp CBD. Some known benefits of CBD for pets are as follows: reduces anxiety and fears, helps with arthritis and joint pain, reduces aggressive behavior, helps animals battling cancer, helps with glaucoma, acts as an anti-inflammatory, shown to reduce and help manage seizures. To ensure proper dosage, observe your pet’s behavior for any changes.
A TPLR and/or COA is important to consider when purchasing a hemp CBD product. The report gives specific, validated information regarding a variety of attributes of the product; such as: potency (cannabinoid and terpene profile), heavy metals, pesticides, mycotoxins and residual solvents. This information is useful in determining the safety and quality of the product. We’re very proud to offer ours here.
